Big 10 in Full Effect
I’m impressed. The Big 10, what I thought all year to be just above a mid-major conference, has impressed me greatly. I was never much of a Duke believer, but I wouldn’t have believed you if you’d told me that Wisconsin and Michigan State would be in the elite 8. The tourney results are up, and those who picked Illinois are rising. Oh, and one guy who picked Louisville - he could be the winner!
Good games today, but probably no live-blogging.

Now if Arizona is beaten by Illinois, all the teams that we have come to hate would be eliminated.

I’m not sure who I want to root for. Probably Kentucky at this point, or perhaps Michigan state. A part of me would like to see a UNC Illinois game, but I think it would be sad to see the two sides of the coaching triangle who have behaved at times poorly in the situation to be essentially rewarded for their behavior.

“the two sides of the coaching triangle who have behaved at times poorly in the situation ”
What do you mean by this? How has Weber behaved poorly?

Tom,
I replied to your email, but I’ll go ahead and reply here as well:
I think that Weber has taken a higher road than Roy (whom I used to respect greatly), but I still think he has behaved childishly. He has directed a number of thinly-veiled insults toward Self and his system and the ‘mock funeral’ was gratuitous in my opinion. Roy, on the other hand, has continued to make things difficult for Self by maintaining contact with his former players, calling them, etc., and referencing them in the media. Self, his coaching shortcomings this season notwitstanding, has made no such contact with his players at Illinois, and has been very complimentary of Weber. I don’t have anything personal against Bruce Weber, I just didn’t like the smarmy tone of some of his comments and thought the funeral thing was a farce.
Or didn’t you think so?
Thanks for the email. You can call me Jeremy. I’m not a big fan of aliases, by the way, but it’s better to start with one and get rid of it than to write under your own name and regret it forever no?
