DeAndre Thomas signs with Kansas Missouri junior college powerhouse Chipola College

It’s true. We won’t be playing against DeAndre Thomas next year.

He’ll be playing Juco for Chipola College of Florida

Thomas, a 6-7 post who originally signed to play at the University of Missouri, is a big time talent. He is a true space-eater inside who has the ability to score at will close to the basket. Thomas also has a soft touch on jumper which allows him to step out, and drop mid-range jumpers as well.

Thomas will be a strong player wherever he ends up. Given rumblings of the last few months, I don’t think this is a surprise, though.

what is all this stuff about iu only having one grant. As of right now we have TWO to give this year. Where do you get your info. As for rush you can have him he is a headcase. Just get your facts straight before posting please and basing other teams.

Wasn’t Illinois in the picture for Thomas too? If I recall correctly, Thomas “committed” to Illinois also. That was the reason that the Missouri “commitment” was so interesting. Playing at Missouri, Thomas would be able to compete against both Kansas and Illinois.

I think there must be significant academic issues surrounding Thomas. This announcement doesn’t surprise me. No NBDL? He seemed like a good fit for the NBA Jr. league.

You’re right about Thomas’ talent, though. He can fill the paint and has surprising quickness for a BIG man. His weight and conditioning have been big question marks.

From this article in the Indianapolis Star:

Brandon Rush, a 6-6, 200-pound swingman ranked No. 13 in the nation by rivals.com and hoopmasters.com, spent Thursday and Friday at IU and told The Star the Hoosiers are very much in the running for his services. IU has one scholarship available in the current class.

Now you Hoosiers are telling me that this has changed as of this week. I certainly apologize for misleading anyone, I just didn’t realize that anything had changed in the last week.

I’m not sure why exactly you think Brandon Rush is a headcase, and I suspect that if, indeed he chooses to go to IU, that you’ll be very excited, because the kid can flat out play.

When was Rush at IU? I can’t tell from your post. I haven’t heard of a visit to IU after the official visit to KU and the unofficial time he spent there during the following week. That would be bad news for KU fans.

I presume this is a quote from an article making reference to the official visit that Rush took to IU.

    HJF,

The article is linked in the comment. Rush visited IU, I believe, on the 13th and 14th, but I could be wrong on the dates. It was around that time in any case and several days before the KU visit.

For what it is worth, it was also an “official” visit.
