WHOA! I just wish he would have been honest with everyone. Sounds like he has a school picked out already. Maybe the Zags or Wash U.
I think he would have been a great player for KU. Hated to see hime go but if he wasnt happy so be it.
Good luck micah

Rumor was the girlfriend was the issue. Looks like that’s true.
If Micah’s going to enroll somewhere, he better get on it. Most schools are already in session, so he better get enrolled in whatever school he’ll be attending. If he doesn’t, he’ll be off the court for 18 months instead of 12 months.

I don’t think KU should let him off so easy. He told Self he was out from Seattle??? He flew out the night before and called him next morning, what’s that all about. If KU doesn’t let him off he won’t be able to play until he’s a junior. Maybe KU should show some back bone and not let him off so easy. He’s the third three point shooter we’ve lost in the last three years. Did someone need to remind him that he’s a freshman and he goes to KU…maybe show some patience? Sounds like Self maybe had expected this and also he hasn’t played this semester and I doubt he had the flu during Nebraska…

Looks like we’ve found our Yoko.

I told you so!
When asked if Self would let him out of his letter of intent, Self pretty much said that as long as nothing shady is going on w/ this transfer that he’d do it. Something shady IS going on - Thanks Natty.
I wish nothing but the best for the current players - but Micah, who has fallen from “my boy” status to oblivion, I hope the man with the rubber glove is less than gentle.
Stop drinking the Kool-aid Harger - his girlfriend is not the issue. She’s just the one dumb enough to blab about it!

As I’ve said before, I have no doubt this had soemthing to do with PT, but when you read that he left without taking his things, well that’s flat out batty for Natty.
This just isn’t a standard transfer thing.

If Lawrence isn’t a fun road trip, as Natty implies, it’s my opinion that the fault lies within.

Wow, are you guys really trying that hard to read into someone’s Myspace to see why they left, that’s just sad. What’s next, his LiveJournal?
Since someone mentioned the previous 3 point shooters lost, I think Giddens was a far better “player”, he had the ability to drive and create, though he never used it. Micah wasn’t a game changing player, I think Rush is even better shooter than him anyways (and the game stats support it).
His transfer means more space for someone with versatility in the line-up.

Shouldn’t Micah change his status to “Not so much in college anymore”???
Is it not just a little crazy that a big time KU recruit has personal information on his MySpace account??? I mean, I know all the kids are into that kind of thing these days, but surely he must have had some clue of the fanaticsm of KU followers. It’s just not a good idea to leave that kind of info out there for anyone to view, as it is now currently displayed prominently on the PhogBlog front page for anyone to view.
Anyway, I have no ill wishes towards the kid, and I hope he can get things in his personal life fixed. However, I have little doubt that his basketball career will suffer with this decision.

If Micah has a new school picked out it must have happened really fast. Because any D1 coach knows talking to an athlete under scholarship is an NCAA violation.
Makes you wonder what is going on….

micah should think about juco..if he cant handle sitting on the bench because if he goes anywhere big hes not going to play right away anyway…besides hes not that great anyway

I’m sorry to see Micah leave for two reasons. One, seeing him against St. Joe’s in the Garden proved to me that with some patience and practice he could have been a not just good, but great player at KU. He didn’t shoot the ball well this year (maybe because of inconsistent playing time and his “personal” problems) but there’s no doubt that the kid had a natural stroke. He would have been in line for a starting job next year after Rush leaves. Two, it’s sad that the girlfriend seemed to be an issue. When you’re a five star recruit at a big-time program at KU, there’s potential girlfriends galore. And I’m 100% positive that they’re hotter than *Natty* here. Not a very flattering pic. Anyways, best of luck to Micah at Gonzaga, and to *Natty* (Light) best enjoy the ride and the “roadtrips” until your boyfriend wises up and finds a new girl.

Natty is a hottie, but KU is full of Nattys. Young hearts though, whatta you do? I wish him the best.

micah is a loss, he had the potential to be a very good all around player. unfortunately, his head thought he should already be in the league and his talent placed him squarely on the Kansas bench. bottom line is he’s a product of buying into his own high school hype and wanted all the glory without the work. Micah will have to come to some hard realizations, he needs to grow up past the high school scene instead of running back to it. also, his girlfriend is broke as hell compared to what KU has to offer.
