Micah Downs: “Kansas Really Sucked”
MySpace is not just for pedophiles any more. Dear friends, this internet marvel now allows fans such as you and I to plumb the depths of the teenage consciousness to reveal the mysterious truths that lie therein. So what’s there? Why did Micah leave KU?
Because Kansas Sucked. Really Sucked. Or so says Micah, to his buddy snarf snarf:
im doing pretty good. kansas really sucked so i transferred to gonzaga and that is where i am now. me and natanya are still together and as strong as ever.
Glad to hear about Natty. And to know that the Red Vest has been summarily tossed into the blazing fires of fashion hell.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a long time, hoping he would grow up. I think it was the earring that first tipped me off there might be a problem. Also, you knew that his dad never forced him to stick through adversity. Reminds me of a worse version of Padgett syndrome. Didn’t David want to develope his outside game more? I didn’t see that at all this year. If I had a nickle for every freshman I know who made the mistake of leaving a tough situation in college and blamed it on a girl (Micah, not Padgett), I’d at least have 50 cents.

All I know is that KU is 9-0 since Downs left. That’s all the “sucking” that matters to me.

Word on the street from KU students is that his little “gem” of a girlfriend is actually pregnant. I have heard that multiple places, and I guess that time will tell.

Why is everybody piling on Downs here?
A) Who cares what he does or says?
B) He’s a 19 year old kid that made some bad decisions, oh well.

David,
I thought several times about not posting this, but the kid went on record to say that “Kansas Really Sucked,” so I had a hard time feeling too sorry about it.
I don’t wish the kid any personal ill will, but I do find his meanderings about the MySpace universe pretty funny.
BTW, regarding any pregnancy, I know that’s a pretty common rumor, but I suspect that’s what it is - a rumor.

To recap Micah Downs’ “Personal Problems”:
– Kansas sucks cuz he got no burn
– Though he wouldn’t/couldn’t play defense (or make a friend) he doesn’t blame himself for anything that went wrong.
– Things “really suck” when a better player is getting more playing time than you. (Brandon Rush, Julian Wright you guys are SO MEAN.)
– When he asked his father, Micah was told that he is awesome and should be starting… on any team, college NBA or galaxy-wide all-star squad…
That said, all the best to Micah. May he find peace, love, and a place with comparably good wings to Jefferson’s out there in Spokane.

You know Micah and his dad have to be thinking “what if” now that KU has won 10 in a row and getting love from media all over the country. Look how far we’ve moved into the polls since he left. I still think he could have had been a major factor in helping KU win a national title in the next few years. He needed an attitude adjustment and some defensive schooling.

Micah is an amazing person with a great future! He has walked through tough times & came out of them stronger & wiser than the average person could have. I am his great aunt who knows “up close & personal” what this kid has been through. Micah & his family lived with me for 5 weeks when they first came to Washington.For those of you who do not know the FACTS, and choose to be negative & not support Micah,please know that you will all one day eat crow! My hats off to Micah Down!

I am Micah’s Grandmother. Micah will continue to shine in the basketball circuit! He’s an awesome talented young man. He makes his grandmother proud!
Of course I realize the media and the public do not know the facts and they will say and publish all sorts of garbage and assume whatever they wish. However, personal means just that “Personal”!!!

Actually, we do know some facts: He wasn’t good enough to play, he wasn’t tough enough to stick it out, and he wasn’t humble enough to admit to himself he had to get better. Oh, and his girlfriend is illiterate.

well to jayhawker 22 who made the snide remark, it doesn’t really matter what you think because it’s still a fact that Micah is still an awesome basketball player and will continue to play ball! So think and say whatever you want. Oh, and by the way his girlfriend certainly is not illiterate!! She works 2 jobs and still goes to college!!!! So I think she’s a pretty smart gal!
