KU OSU Postgame

Oklahoma State has gotten a lot better, but they were helped by better than average three point shooting by OSU, much worse than average three point shooting by KU, and poor free throw shooting by KU down the stretch.

OSU is good at making the game ugly and keeping it close.

Mercy me it will be hard to play Oklahoma tomorrow in another ugly game, and I don’t think we can expect Nebraska to put up a fight.

Is it just me, or is OSU a really tough first round draw for a co-champion?

Let’s hope that Nebraska plays OU pretty tough and that the game goes into triple overtime.

On the one hand, my pacemakered heart can hardly stand games like that, but I think it’s really important to face pressure like that. That being said, I think it is the rare team that can apply the same kind of pressure that OSU plays.

OSU will be a lot better next year as these guys grow up.

Overall it was a hard fought game, and OSU played very very well. Hopefully we can play a bit looser tomorrow and make a few more jump shots.

Anybody else?

    Some thoughts tonight…

There was a pretty noticeable correlation between Kansas’s PPP on possessions after getting a defensive rebound and on all other possessions.

Each team’s high scorer- Kaun and Eaton- didn’t play as well as their point totals would indicate.

I like that the team didn’t hang their heads despite blowing the lead and failing to win by projected margin.

And it’s KU’s 2nd close win this game… nice to see that.

If we don’t get better with free throw shooting (at least 70%), we are going down in the NCAA tournament, and hard. My lifespan was cut five years shorter after this game.

    Go Huskers!

Man, we really need to cut down on the TURNOVERS! Brandon Rush has got to show up more. This “every-other-game” thing he does really dampers KU’s tournement hopes if he keeps it up. When all areas are playing well we are as tough a team as there is in the country to beat.

BTW… Great game Sasha Kaun, and play a little better Brandon! Rock Chalk

Rush was being guarded by Dove, who did a good job. He just didn’t seem to be open very much. I just hope we have the juice for tomorrow.

I fear that we’ll have a really tired team on Sunday though.

Hopefully UT will too, they didn’t have an easy time with TT today.

Assuming we hang on and beat Nebraska by one, I was wondering if you’ll give us what you stole that fateful Sunday in Lawrence. Since that game, you’ve been elevating and we’ve been even keal. I can’t help but wonder what if….It’s gonna be tough for us to keep up with KU points wise….

  7. Chalmersfan Says:

I hope you haven’t forgotten how many layups and open 3’s KU missed in that game… add those and KU won’t need a miracle comeback. Good luck in getting your one point victory tonight.

I heard Armstrong say that Gray is hobbled… is it bad?

  8. Jeremy Chrysler Says:

I wouldn’t have thought a 1 point victory would even be possible here, but it’s looking like it could be the case.

    50/50 with 4.44 to go.

    Go Huskers indeed!!

    Nebraska 69, Oklahoma 63

The Big Red have laid two huge goose-eggs so far against the Jayhawks this year. Here’s hoping for a great semi-final game.

    Third time is a charm.

    Go Big Red!!

Anyways, Congrats to the Baby Hawks. If you would have told me to start the year that KU would be better than OU I’d have spit in your face. I stand corrected. Do us disappointed Sooners a favor and rip Nebraska. They are bottom feeders and need to be taught a lesson. Good luck in the NCAA’s. When’s football start?

  11. Hoopinion Says:

Chalmers played a really poor offensive game as well. It’s been a long time since he exhibited such poor decision making for an entire game.

Sooner Nick, I wouldn’t have spit in anyone’s face before the season started, but I thought a best-case scenario for the conference race would have Kansas rallying to finish a fairly distant third. I knew not having a point guard would hamper Oklahoma’s chances to be a national power this year, but the additional lack of contributions from Godbold and Carter really limit the team.

  12. Chalmersfan Says:

Another milestone reached… this is KU’s 17th consecutive year with 23 wins. Before the season I thought that reasonable goals would be 11 conference wins, 23 total wins, and a 3rd place conference finish. This team has surpassed all of that.

    Go Aggies and Go Jayhawks!
