Some tidbits:

What Kansas did well: Play defense
What Kansas didn’t do well: Get offense from the perimeter
What’s in store for 2007: A national championship should be the goal…”

“Darnell Jackson’s numbers have breakout season written all over them, much like Aaron Gray and Joakim Noah did last year.”

“KU is a top five team, but even with the sick defense, they are going to need more consistency on the perimeter to grease a path to the final four.”

Pomeroy’s Darnell Jackson analysis is encouraging considering that Jackson will have ample opportunity to break out this season.

It’s also good to get some confirmation that I’m not completely crazy in thinking that if this team is as good as it could be, Brandon Rush will most likely be a role player.

Well, it’s good to hear this news after post-Kaun blowing out his knee/Giles irresponsibility on and off teh court.

You never know, this could be a blessing in disguise. I too think Darnell Jackson can be a very effective player, especially if Darrell Arthur can learn to play top-notch defense to defend quicker post players on our schedule (i.e., Joakim Noah, Jared Dudley) so Julian Wright can absolutely dominate the other team’s 3 men.

And I don’t know about you guys, but I’m excited to hear that Coach Self is thinking about utilizing Rodrick Stewart in the post. He may stink up the place, or he may turn into a poor man’s P.J. Tucker. Who knows??? At this point, I’m just glad to see him get a chance to get some minutes. He never got that last season.
