This is a good move for Rush, in my opinion.

Big XII B-Ball Championship to KC

The Big 12 Conference’s board of directors approved proposals Thursday to hold its basketball title game in Kansas City’s Sprint Center beginning with the 2009-10 season.  This is great news for KU, for whom this will basically be a home game.

At its annual spring meeting, the board also approved a proposal to move the men’s basketball championship game from Sunday to Saturday, beginning with the 2008-09 season.  The switch will give the NCAA men’s selection committee more time to evaluate Big 12 teams.

Brandon’s Back!

KU Coach Self and Brandon Rush have issued a statement indicating that KU’s leading scorer for the past two seasons is withdrawing his name from consideration for this year’s NBA draft.  Rush, who was second on the team in rebounding as well, will no doubt pick up some of the minutes that had been allocated to Julian Wright, who will be a lottery pick.

Rumor is that a minor knee injury suffered by Rush in a pickup game may have contributed to this decision.  Regardless, KU fans are smiling big tonight!

Chad Ford Interviews Julian Wright

posted by Hoopinion on 5/24/2007 - -

Kansas City native, acknowledged KU fan, and ESPN.com draft guru Prof. Chad Ford asks about Wright’s draft preparation, last year’s Kansas team, the loss to UCLA specifically, Kevin Durant’s NBA potential (SPOILER WARNING: Wright thinks Durant will be really, really good.), and who Wright would prefer to be drafted by.

I am not entirely sure that this podcast is new (the interview itself is a few days old) nor am I entirely sure that this is not Insider content.

Apologies should either element of my confusion cause inconvenience.

DeCourcy Labels KU’s Collins One of the Nation’s Most “Pivotal Players”

This is a great article by Mike DeCourcy of The Sporting News.  He highlights Sherron’s potential, compares him to other PG notables in the 2006 recruiting class, and opines regarding his importance to KU’s future.  A great read!

Jim Wooldridge was introduced as the new head coach at UC-Riverside.  Quite a fall.
