Brandon’s Back!
KU Coach Self and Brandon Rush have issued a statement indicating that KU’s leading scorer for the past two seasons is withdrawing his name from consideration for this year’s NBA draft. Rush, who was second on the team in rebounding as well, will no doubt pick up some of the minutes that had been allocated to Julian Wright, who will be a lottery pick.

Rumor is that a minor knee injury suffered by Rush in a pickup game may have contributed to this decision. Regardless, KU fans are smiling big tonight!

This is great news but I’m not too surprised to hear it. I always thought he was about 50/50, but with him back, all the pieces are in place.
Now the question is, who is the starting 5? I think Rush, Chalmers, and Arthur are all locks. Then it’s probably Kaun at the 5, although I think Aldrich and Jackson could play more minutes. The real debate is who will start at the point. It will be tough to put Robinson on the bench after two years of starting and being a senior, but it’s also tough to not have Collins out on the court as much as possible. My guess is that Self will play it out similar to last season. Any way you slice it, it should be another great year for the Jayhawks.
