KU blasts CMU 52-7
I thought we could lose this game, particularly after Kent State came and took one from ISU in Ames. Granted the Clones aren’t that good this year, but this, in my mind, was a losable game.
Maybe I should start drinking the national kool-aid regarding KU. Last year’s 5 giveaways just sting and remain fresh in my mind.

I predicted a 2-touchdown win, but I really expected the game to be played closer than that. I never saw this blowout coming. Good way to win for a young team.
Several freshmen got significant playing time. This should be a real confidence booster.

I thought the game was a toss-up myself. I’m pretty ambivalent regarding The Fat Man: He’s obviously improved the program significantly but is he going to make the program good?
Last night (at least from the vantage point of Yahoo’s play-by-play) has me leaning toward the probability that the current talent has risen to the level of the early- to mid-90s and he’s reached the point on his learning curve as a game coach to take advantage of that.
I can’t wait to see them play.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This was a great win, but it is difficult to know how good KU is after a home opener win against a question mark of a team. Unfortunately, I doubt we’ll know how good they are until the game at Manhattan (at least I hope the games are ho-hum until that point).
Also, was it just me, or did Talib completely dismantle the secondary on his touchdown? Great to see Reesing at the helm with everyone contributing. They did look great, though!

BB, I think Quinn was saying we got a single vote for the top 25, which means we were 25 on someone’s ballot.
